Academics K-6
Our curriculum is based on the Arkansas State Frameworks. "Integrating the Faith" curriculum, published by Concordia Publishing House, is used to help meet these goals. These are used together to create a unique curriculum for Concordia Christian Academy.
The curriculum is reviewed weekly by teachers to help them meet the needs of their students. Teachers use the curriculum to plan lessons that will challenge and encourage students to reach their full potential. The curriculum is always being revised and improved so that it remains up-to-date and usable.
Current curriculum areas include language arts (reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and penmanship), math, science, social studies, and technology. We also provide instruction in music, art, and physical education.
CCA is excited to offer library skills instruction and character development instruction. The library instruction will take place in the classroom along with monthly field trips to the Jonesboro Public Library. Character development instruction will cover such topics as manners, honesty, integrity, responsibility, and tolerance.
CCA uses many types of assessments, including standardized testing, to measure student's abilities and progress. These assessments also help us recognize strengths and weaknesses in our curriculum and teaching techniques. Results from a variety of assessments are used to improve instruction at CCA.
