Third and Fourth Grade students are taking off in their learning! They are becoming more independent in their assignments! Working in a classroom with two grades allows the students to hear a review when the younger class is learning AND ALSO to be introduced to new ideas when the older class is learning. Since the teacher is working with one group, the students develop the ability to focus and work through their learning on their own and later come back as a group to visit the concepts.
Literacy Students will use many strategies to comprehend a wide variety of reading material. They will read, make connections, visualize, question, and monitor their understanding. They will make inferences and draw conclusions. They will be able to summarize the major points. They will build their vocabulary and word analysis to be able to read fluently.
